19th ANNUAL HOWL-O-WEEN PET PARADE
After missing this event last year due to the pandemic, we are happy to announce its return!

The 19th Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade and Costume Contest will be held at Town Park on Saturday, October 30th at 3:00 pm. All pets in costume and their humans are invited to participate in the parade which will travel from Town Park to Cherry Street so that spectators can enjoy watching all the humans and pets showcase their costumes as they walk along Cherry Street. This event is in its 19th year and has become a Black Mountain tradition, attracting visitors and participants from, not only out local area, but from other counties and states. The parade begins at 3:00 pm and will be followed by the costume contest. Registration for the costume contest is from 1:00-2:30 under the tent at the Town Park. There are two categories this year: Pet/People and Pet Only. There is a small registration fee for the contest, which a portion of is donated to a local animal rescue organization of our choice. Prizes are awarded in each category and the two first prize winners compete for the Grand Prize. Prizes consist of gift certificates donated by our local businesses and cash awards.
The parade is not just for people and dogs, there have been cats, goats, rabbits, and even a tarantula enter the costume contest.
