Asheville Humane Society Reopens Adoption Center

Asheville, NC- After operating by appointment only since the pandemic began, Asheville Humane Society has recently reopened their Adoption Center to walk-ins.
Asheville Humane Society has been diligent about practicing all safety precautions including social distancing, required masks and temperature readings for all staff, volunteers and visitors. Now, they are allowing customers to come inside on a first come, first served basis without an appointment, while continuing these safety protocols. When the recommended "COVID capacity" is reached, customers have socially-distant waiting options available until other guests exit the building.
They hope to help more animals by opening their doors again. "We are excited to welcome visitors back into our Adoption Center without required appointments," said Jody Evans, Executive Director of Asheville Humane Society. "By providing more opportunities for our community to visit us, we know these deserving pets will find their homes more quickly, while also opening up space for other animals in need!"
Asheville Humane Society's Adoption Center hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 6pm with animal rooms closed for naptime from 1-2pm daily. They are currently running a fee-waived special for all felines and dog adoption fees are $10. This promotion lasts through September 30. Check Asheville Humane's website to view all available pets.
