Cat-Only Vet Clinic to open soon

Dr. Annie King is opening a new cat veterinary practice in West Asheville Cat Clinic of Asheville is a certified fear-free clinic, dedicated to the care and treatment of cats and only cats. The new Cat Clinic of Asheville is welcoming the patients of the former Cat Care Clinic of Asheville upon the retirement of owner Dr. Karel Carnohan. Before retiring, Dr. Carnohan was dedicated to finding someone who would care for her feline patients with the same love, patience, and expertise she provided. She found the perfect fit in Dr. Annie King, who will continue to build upon the previous clinic’s reputation for compassionate, specialized veterinary care.
It’s a sad truth that many cat owners avoid taking their cat to the vet due to how stressful these visits can be for cat and human alike. In fact, fifty-eight percent of cat owners say that their cat hates going to the vet, according to a study conducted by Bayer HealthCare in 2014. The new Cat Clinic finds this statistic unacceptable and plans to change that experience by providing a safe, quiet, and comfortable environment for you and your cat. We will offer a better veterinary experience using low stress and Fear Free® handling techniques to minimize any anxiety associated with your cat’s visit. The clinic itself has been designed with your cat’s safety and comfort in mind at every step, and will be Gold Standard Cat Friendly Certified® by the American Association of Feline Practitioners, ensuring that your beloved cat has the best possible veterinary visit and gets the specialized care they deserve!
The Cat Clinic of Asheville is currently under construction and will open its doors in early October. It is conveniently located at 49 Haywood Road, between West Asheville and the River Arts district.
